WRITING: A FILM REVIEW

THE CRAZIES:

I’m not a great fan of horror Films so I didn’t expect to enjoy The crazies. However, I was really pleasantly surprised by this horror film, made by the film company Paramount Pictures.

The film is set in a little village in the western area of the USA. The plot centres on a plague. Everyone who drinks water from the river gets ill and becomes a zombie. So the whole population of the village, except the sheriff, his wife and a couple of friends, become zombies. The two healthy couples will try to leave the village but it will be really difficult because everybody tries to kill them.

Timothy Olyphant plays the sheriff of the village. He is a brave man worried about the future of his pregnant wife. The film is good, despite the absence of music and sometimes special effects.

In short, “The crazies” is a good film but I can just recommend it to people who like horror films and people who want to have a good time with their friends.

THE EGYPTIAN REVOLUTION 4/2/11:

Finally, the Egyptian revolution has succeeded. After about twenty days when most of the population has been complaining about, the govern of the “president” since 1981, Mohamed Hosni Mubarak has resigned his power.

The revolution had taken place for eighteen days: all started on the 25th of January, a special day for Egyptians, when there were many demonstrations around the country showing the disagreement of the population versus Mubarak.

After the demonstrations some people started to go to Tahrir square, a huge square of Cairo, the capital of the country. They stayed the whole day claiming that the president left the government. The first day they were not many people but in the end they were thousands of people claiming freedom.

After all, the president left the government. It was on the 11th of February. Obviously, thousands of people went around the streets to celebrate the victory, but it is just the first step in order to transform Egypt in a democratic country.

Nowadays UNO is thinking of accusing Mubarak for making crimes against humanity.

According to politicians maybe now there will begin revolutions throughout Africa, claiming democracy, because many countries of this continent have had the same president for many years.
